The R&D center undertook more than 10 national key research programs and several provincial research programs by utilizing the research resources of Southwest Petroleum University.


Based on the research, GYPC successfully developed AP-P series applicable for thick oil layer, offshore high permeability thick oilfields and other high heat, high salt reservoirs. AP-P series has the properties of excellent heat resistance, salt resistance, shearing resistance and high viscosity because of the dynamic physical reversible net structure. GYPC started the first test injection with AP-P series in Bohai Oilfield in Oct. 2003. After several test injections in different wells, it got the whole injection implemented in 2010. It is the first time in the world to take offshore Polymer EOR test and injection project. So far, with its great oil enhancing and water decreasing effects, tens of thousands ton AP-P4 used in oilfield has gained good economic and social benefits.


The company successfully developed the “Smart Gel” plugging series (ZND series) and set up a series of matching techniques applicable for different loss conditions, especially for large losses. Its successes in all field applications indicate that the new plugging theory and technology is technically feasible and can meet the plugging requirement. The products and techniques enable the best plugging solutions to be adopted for best plugging purpose.


The strong gel and weak gel profile controlling and flooding system has been successfully applied in Zhongyuan and Xinjiang Oilfield for high heat and high salt, low permeability, and edge-bottom water developed reservoirs. With excellent injection property, the plugging agents and weak gel could be injected by large amount. The good dilution resistance and low gelling concentration enables the solution to gel in the edge-bottom water and slug front, and the heat resistance and salt resistance property (calcium and magnesium resistance) could prevent the polymer from over curling and over sediment before gelling. In addition, GYPC developed other well drilling and completion additives, oil extraction additives which have entered overseas market and gained important research results with independent intellectual property rights.


The new fracturing fluid series of GYPC have no residual, low friction, low harm to stratum and good proppant carrying capacity. This series have been successfully used for more than 200wells, and achieved excellent stimulation effect, and the highest field application temperature was 153℃. The super high heat deep-well fracturing project of heat resistance Hydroxypropyl guar gum fracturing fluid in 180℃ deep well (success rate over 97%) has broken the record of deep well fracturing project of Boron crosslinking fracturing fluid(173℃). The solid-free CO2 foam fracturing fluid was successfully applied in several oilfields in the Northeast and Northwest of China and reached the domestic leading level, where the application conditions are : largest well depth (3750m), highest stratum temperature (137℃), CO2weight (50~62), sand ratio (30%).
